BINGO! Bingo Schedule

Hello Athletes and Parents (Kids, make sure your parents get this message),

The Hamilton Olympic Club is very lucky to participate in Bingo fundraising.  The funds we raise at Bingo enable us to pay for facilities, entries, and a large portion of travel and accommodation expenses for you, the athlete.  Were it not for Bingo, parents would be expected to pay for all these things, either directly or by paying registration fees at triple their current rate.  So, Bingos are a VERY good thing for us!  All Senior athletes are obliged to do 3-4 Bingos.  All MTA (Intermediate) athletes are obliged to do a minimum of 1 Bingo per session signed up, or 2-3 for the whole year.

Two to three people are needed per Bingo.  Only individuals 18 years and older can attend a Bingo, so parents/guardians typically attend on behalf of younger athletes. Bingos are not difficult and new volunteers will be shown what to do upon arrival. Bingos are so important to us that registration forms will not be processed until after Bingos dates have been selected. Athletes who are not signed up for or who have not honoured their Bingo commitment will NOT be entered in meets and may be charged a “no-show” fee.

Where?

Princess Bingo, 300 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton, ON.

Who's Responsible?

Parents/athletes are responsible for signing up for enough Bingos to fulfill their commitment. Coaches are responsible for ensuring athletes have signed up for Bingos, well in advance of their date and following through if the athlete has not signed up, cancels late or does not attend. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for keeping track of the schedule and reminding volunteers of their scheduled commitments as the date draws near.

At the Bingo itself, a Team Leader (pre-assigned) manages the volunteers and is responsible for the accounting of monies. The Board is responsible for ensuring that the rules of the Bingo license are followed and that the license is renewed bi-annually.

As you can see, everyone has their part to play in making the Bingos work to the benefit of the athletes!
